I thrive in an environment helping others, and I devote myself to quality work; that is the hallmark of my career.
As an instructional designer, I love to get creative to foster positive change. I bring experience in the following areas (see certifications below):
Creating design documents, storyboards, learning objectives, instructional content, interactive elements, knowledge checks, supplemental materials, and assessments with attention to a specific target audience, design aesthetics, and focused content
Conducting needs and learner analyses to accurately pinpoint business goal, business problem, learning gaps, and best learning delivery methods
Collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure accurate, quality, and meaningful content
Incorporating Adult Learning Theory to provide content that feels relevant, meaningful, and supportive of learner goals
Collaborating with cross-functional teams regarding project goals, requirements, and progress
Revitalizing existing course material to further engage the learner and improve content
Previous Experience
During my tenure as manager of a Customer Success Team at a SaaS company, my goal was to remain customer-focused and help my colleagues shine. I believe in the “it takes a village” idea fiercely; in that role I listened to my colleagues, communicated their concerns diplomatically, and gave them autonomy to do what they do best to support the needs of the customer. I led the way by constantly innovating and streamlining our processes, presenting multiple customized VILT sessions each week, and mentoring new hires that I interviewed and helped select.
Collaborating with colleagues in both leadership and supportive roles feeds my soul. A natural problem solver, I enjoy working independently as well as within cross-functional teams.
This drive comes from my background in teaching high school English and community service. How great is it to teach saving the world? Getting learners hooked on helping others, watching them take that passion and become professionals who help others –that’s my idea of making the world a better place. Importantly, I’m also a devout word nerd and valiant defender of the Oxford comma.
What else?
Just raising two fantastic humans with my amazing partner, exploring the world, practicing gratitude, indulging my passion for home improvement, reading, and hanging out with our golden retriever Apollo and our snake Fluffy.
